we
get an increasing number of complains by paraglider manufacturers,
about imperfect and faulty imprints, done by some of our competitors
they requested our professional expertise for settling the following
ongoing matter:
at a canopy weight of 9,4 kg, an imprint of 1,6 kg was put
on the paraglider, which equals an increase of weight, of nearly
20%, and definitely changes the flying characteristics of the glider
they used an improper, heavy material for this 10 sqm imprint,
in this case
adding up to this very unprofessional workmanship, was the
fact that they either used an overlap of 8 cm (unnecessary weight
gain), or flush bonding (creates a gap in flight)
after consultation with the paraglider manufacturer, the imprint
had to be removed prior the next flight, in order to keep the glider
